NRF Power Ranking, 12.9

Scott Williams

Welcome to the second installment of the NRF Power Ranking. Now we've seen every team in action, and Week 2 shed some light on who the most powerful teams actually are in the NRF.

10. Foamposite - After losing to the defending champs in their season opener for the second year in a row, Foamposite just happened to be the victim of Dan Solomito in Week 2. With a game against Delta Force this week, hopefully they can get back on track.

9. Delta Force - While it was tough to evaluate this new-look team before they actually played, their beat down from Hyperflight didn't bode too well either. Hopefully that was just first game jitters and the team can find some chemistry this week.

8. Huarache - Week 1 saw a Huarache squad sans captain get shellacked by Shox. With a completely new roster from last year, it may take a couple weeks for these guys to gel. Nothing changes this week as they sat out Week 2 with a bye.

7. Generation - First a surging Hyperflight squad and then a rematch of the championship game against Uptempo, Generation probably had the hardest schedule to start the season. A game is a game though, and if they want to get back to the Garden, they're going to have to win some.

6. Shox - So far this season Shox hasn't looked anything like the team we'd like to see from them. An opening night scare, a loss to Terminator and tonight they face up with the defending champs. This is statement game for sure.

5. Terminator - How was Terminator going to replace the gaping hole known as Brendan Callahan, with a rookie by the name of Omar Grant. In their first game last week, Terms looked sharp against a short-handed Shox squad and is undefeated on the season.

4. Dunk - Losing to Air Force 1 by only five in Week 1 - without a couple of their best players - was to be promising for Dunk. But a 38 and 12 game from rookie Dan Solomito was even better. With production like that, Dunk has to be a team to watch.

3. Hyperflight - For a team that spent the better part of last season winless, you gotta love seeing Hyperflight 2-0 on the year. This week will determine just how good they are when they face Air Force 1.

2. Air Force 1 - For an All-Star team, AF1 looked kind of average in their first run together. Pay that no matter - this team is stacked and will do damage all season. After the week off to try and figure it out, they face a red-hot Hyperflight squad that wants nothing more than to defeat them.

1. Uptempo - Nothing's changed. Until the champs lose, they're going to sit atop the Power Rankings. Let's see what they can do tonight when they face an angry Shox squad.
