Generation 46, Foamposite 59

To start the second game of the night, Generation only had five people. Make that four after Jose Carlson went down in the first minute. But all that meant was Joe Branch had the room to room to operate. For Foamposite though, Brian Bachelor took his key matchup of the week to heart. After six minutes, with only four guys, Generation was up 15-11.

But then it happened. Maybe they finally realized that they were playing against only four games, or maybe their shots decided to fall, but Foamposite went on a run. Over the next 10 minutes, they pushed their lead to 30-21 behind solid team play.

You gotta hand it to Do Kim. His team needed height, and what did he do? He went out and got some height. You could already see the difference in how they play with David Jacoby and Andrew Simon. By halftime, Foamposite led 36-23.

But in the second half, Generation was back to five guys – and they were dropping burgers and fries. With the addition of Jomo Davis, they started the half on a 8-0 run, and looked primed to take over. With their patented zone in place, the defense led to easy offense. After six minutes, Bachelor finally knocked down a three. And the heavens opened.

For the next 10 minutes, neither team was willing to give an inch. And then in the last two, each team was looking to take a mile. Working the ball around the horn, the only thing Foamposite could do was turn it over. And they didn’t.

Final score: Foamposite wins, 62-53.
